HHS XC Paws Up Team Camp

Our site may not be quite as posh as the Resort at Paws Up (right next door), but it’s the company you camp with that makes the adventure meaningful and memorable. Every Bengal runner is expected to attend camp. This is a great team building opportunity and a great way to get to know each other, whether eating, running, star-gazing, collaborating on skits or playing games.

When: Tuesday, Aug. 16-Thursday, Aug. 18

  • Leave: 8 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16 from HHS
  • Return: 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18 at HHS

Where: Lubrecht Experimental Forrest

Who: All Bengal XC runners are expected to attend.

Transportation: Runners will travel to the camp via a First Student school bus.

Lodging: Runners will sleep in boxcars and cabins.

What to Bring

  • Gift (wrapped, worth $5 for team gift exchange)
  • Running gear for three days (wear running gear Tuesday, and pack two more days worth)
  • Running shoes
  • Extra socks
  • Warm sweats and sweatshirt/jackets for chilly mountain nights
  • Rain jacket
  • Hat/beanie since temps will be cooler than expected
  • Sandals

Tentative Plans



We will enjoy a progression run along the Blackfoot River on our way to camp. After the workout, runners can cool their legs in the river and enjoy a snack.

Trail RUN

We plan to do a steady morning recovery run of varying distances on the trails that surround the camp. We will follow that with core, strength and mobility.

Trail RUN

We will start the day with a light shakeout run. The plan is to keep this easy, since runners are will run in the August Trail Race that evening in Helena.
