Our camp location may not be quite as posh as the Resort at Paws Up (right next door), but it’s the company you camp with that makes the adventure meaningful and memorable. Every Bengal runner is expected to attend camp. This is a great way to chart our course for the season and to get to know each other, whether eating, running, star-gazing, collaborating on dances, singing karaoke, playing games, or making bracelets.

When: Tuesday, Aug. 19-Thursday, Aug. 21

  • Leave: 7 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19 from HHS
  • Return: 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21 at HHS

Where: Lubrecht Experimental Forrest

Who: All Bengal XC runners are expected to attend.

Transportation: Runners will travel to the camp via busses.

Lodging: Runners will sleep in boxcars and cabins.

What to Bring – RECOMMENDED

  • Workout Ts: We will wear Cardinal Team Ts on Tuesday (show up to the bus wearing so we can get a team photo before our first run together); Pack White Ts for Wednesday’s run at camp. You can change out of these after the workouts.
  • Gift (wrapped, worth $10-15 for team gift exchange)
  • Sleeping bag

  • Running gear for three days (wear running gear Monday, and pack two more days worth)

RIVER RUN

Progression run along the Blackfoot River, jump in the river.

Set Stage for Camp/Quick Meeting

Team Theme Bracelet Crafting (we will leave materials out)

Team Challenges (Ladder Ball, Corn Hole – toss for points)

Dinner (sit with teams): Grill burgers and dogs

Wednesday

FOREST RUN

8 a.m. – Recovery run and hill sprints, strength and mobility.

Activities

Breakfast: Oatmeal bar

Bengal Pillars and Principles

Lunch and Trivia (sit with teams): Make Your Own sandwich bar

Free Time

Team Games (Rock Paper Scissors Battle Royale; Hobby Horse Dressage Relay)

Free Time

Dinner: Lasagna/Pasta

Song and Dance

Karaoke and Camp Fire

In cabins: 11:30 p.m.

Lights out: 12 p.m.

Thursday

Shakeout

9 a.m. – Shakeout run, mobility, and team visualization.

Activities

Breakfast: Egg Bake

Pack and Clean-Up

11 a.m. – Depart Camp

Swimming, Camp Awards and Lunch (Salmon Lake, leave at 2-2:30 p.m.)

7 p.m. August Trail Race – Team Time Trial, Register Today
